In this research, 310 linguistic samples from 17 body-part terms that were more frequent were examined.Data were collected from dictionaries of Gilaki idioms and proverbs, as well as from the everyday speech of native speakers. This is a qualitative study conducted using a descriptive-analytical method in two stages. In the first stage, after determining the frequency of idioms and proverbs for each body-part term, the data were analyzed for cognitive schemas without any prior assumptions, and the dominant schema for each body-part term was identified. In the second stage, the data were examined in terms of cultural schemas related to positive and negative value attributions. The results showed that the body-part terms del 'heart', sar 'head', češm 'eye', dast 'hand', and pā 'foot' were respectively more frequent than other body-part terms, and the Image Schema of Entity was active across all body-part terms, indicating the significance of this schema. Furthermore, in terms of cultural schemas based on positive and negative value attributions in the metaphorical conceptualizations of body-part terms, the body-part term del 'heart' had the highest number of both positive and negative value attributions. Overall, the total number of negative conceptualizations of body-part terms exceeded that of positive conceptualizations.
