Examining early Talysh texts provides valuable insights into the development of its writing tradition and the historical evolution of its orthography. This study employs a descriptive-analytical and comparative approach to examine four nineteenth-century Talysh manuscripts from the Lankaran region, dating to the second half of the nineteenth century. The aim is to identify the scribes’ strategies for representing Talysh phonemes and to investigate the similarities and differences among these orthographic practices. The findings indicate that although Talysh orthography had not yet reached a fully standardized stage, the scribes shared a relatively consistent set of conventions and writing tendencies. The analysis of the representation of features such as the closed ā vowel, yā-ye majhūl (historical long ē), final short vowels, the schwa vowel, and consonants with multiple graphemic representations demonstrates that variations among the manuscripts reflect differences in the application of orthographic conventions rather than the absence of established principles. The study further suggests that the Talysh writing tradition in Lankaran developed through interaction with Persian and Turkic scribal traditions while maintaining its own relatively coherent orthographic system. زبان تالشی نظام آوایی ویژه‌ای دارد که در برخی موارد با چالش‌هایی در بازنمایی نوشتاری روبه‌رو بوده است. بررسی متون کهن تالشی می‌تواند در شناخت پیشینۀ رسم‌الخط این زبان و چگونگی شکل‌گیری سنت کتابت آن نقش مهمی ایفا کند. در پژوهش حاضر با روش توصیفی ـ تحلیلی و رویکردی تطبیقی، چهار متن تالشیِ متعلق به لنکران در نیمۀ دوم قرن نوزدهم میلادی را بررسی شده‌است. هدف پژوهش، شناسایی راهکارهای کاتبان در بازنمایی آواهای زبان تالشی و بررسی میزان اشتراک و تفاوت این راهکارهاست. نتایج نشان می‌دهد که اگرچه رسم‌الخط تالشی در این دوره هنوز به مرحلۀ معیارشدگی کامل نرسیده بود، کاتبان از مجموعه‌ای از شیوه‌ها و گرایش‌های کمابیش مشترک برای نگارش این زبان بهره می‌بردند. بررسی بازنمایی آواهایی مانند «آ» بسته، یای مجهول، واکه‌های کوتاه پایانی، واکۀ شوا و همخوان‌های چندنمادی نشان می‌دهد که تفاوت‌های میان متن‌ها بیش از آنکه ناشی از فقدان قاعده باشد، به نحوۀ اجرای قاعده‌ها و میزان پایبندی به سنت املایی فارسی یا بازنمایی آوایی زبان تالشی مربوط است. این پژوهش همچنین نشان می‌دهد که سنت کتابت تالشی در لنکران در تعامل با سنت‌های کتابتی فارسی و ترکی شکل گرفته و از قاعده‌ها و گرایش‌های نسبتاً مشخصی برای نگارش زبان تالشی برخوردار بوده است.
